Kathryn Watkins-Wendell appointed SRA distinguished faculty

Kathryn Watkins-Wendell, director of UA's Office of Research Services and Sponsored Programs, received the Society of Research Administrators’ (SRA) Distinguished Faculty designation. The honor recognizes individuals who distinguish themselves as exemplar teachers, scholars and practitioners in the field of research administration.

During her three-year term as an SRA distinguished faculty member, Watkins-Wendell will be called upon as an expert consultant and speaker to present professional workshops, continuing education courses and professional development programs. As an expert research administrator, Watkins-Wendell also will conduct external, periodic and professional reviews of research administration capacity and process within organizations requesting such reviews.

Watkins-Wendell has led the UA Office of Research Services and Sponsored Programs since May 2007. She is a certified research administrator with nearly 25 years of research administration experience.

An active leader in national, regional and local research administration organizations, Watkins-Wendell lives in Westfield Township with her husband, Michael.
