Free concert July 21 by UA Summer Concert Band

The University of Akron Summer Concert Band will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, in Guzzetta Recital Hall, 139 Buchtel Ave., on the UA campus.

Conducted by Robert D. Jorgensen, the band will perform popular works by James Hosay, Franz von Suppe, Clifton Williams, James Curnow, Clare Grundman, Russell Alexander and Frederick Loewe.

Tucker Jolly, professor of tuba and euphonium at UA, will perform the William Bell arrangement of Arban's famous "Carnival of Venice." The guest conductors will include graduate assistants Beth Lewis, a resident from North Royalton, Ohio, and Jason Smith, a native of Endicott, N.Y.
