The meta summit: “Defining the Leader in Me” is a “choose your own adventure”, leadership development training day. Similar to a conference, students will be able to select which educational programs they attend based on your interest.
This day is perfect for those students who do not consider themselves a leader yet, or those who currently hold, or have held leadership roles. Programs target new, developing, and mature leaders.

meta summit: “Defining the Leader in Me” breakdown
"meta" refers to showing or suggesting an explicit awareness of oneself, and in popular culture references the most effective way to achieve a goal. The summit will help student participants define their leadership style by offering them training and conversation on specific skills which will allow them to work towards achieving their goals during their time in college and beyond.
“Defining the Leader in Me” allows the student participants to tailor their summit experience and focus on their individual strengths and weaknesses. The summit will begin with an opportunity for participants to be internally reflective and honest about what type of leadership abilities they believe they hold. They will then select the sessions they believe will allow them to gain or develop a skillset that will help them advance as a leader and achieve their goals. The summit will end with another opportunity to be internally reflective and to begin to intentionally craft their leadership philosophy.
The meta summit encourages you to be the best version of yourself as possible. You have the option of letting us know which path you would like to follow during the day. Programs are tailored to new leaders, developing leaders, and experienced leaders. We are thrilled to be offering close to 11 educational sessions that you will have the option to choose to attend.
Participants will have the option of having their resume reviewed and a professional headshot taken by representatives from the UA Career Services office. The closing session will allow students to think about their leadership philosophy and take the beginning steps of putting their words down on paper.
Participants will also live vote during the day for their favorite sessions of the day. The sessions with the highest scores will be offered during the “Best of Summit” session at the end of the day.
Please use the button found above to submit your conference registration and payment (you’re your credit card ready) beginning January 14th. Be sure to register by Friday, February 14! The conference registration fee is $5.00 for enrolled UA students with a ZipCard. Non-UA students from neighboring institutions can attend for $15.00.
The registration fee covers all materials for the day plus the cost of breakfast and lunch. Your registration will not be considered complete until both the online registration form and online payment are remitted.

Parking can be found by using the Schrank Parking Decks, Exchange Street Deck, or the Carroll St. Deck. *Parking is free, however a pass will be sent for you to print and put on your dashboard. Starbucks and Freshens will be open.
