Student Services Solution

As educational priorities and metrics evolve it is becoming clear that the State of Ohio is focusing on improving retention rates of universities and their students. Due to this shift in priority, the University of Akron has decided to make student retention one if its top priorities. Traditional business practices in place provide mostly one-way communication from advisor to student. By implementing a centralized student service solution this becomes a multi-way conversation between all student services units on campus: advising, tutoring, etc. All units will be able to see if a student has missed an appointment or tutoring session and determine what action needs to be taken for the student to be successful at UA.

Selected Solution

The GradesFirst Solution will provide a centralized management for: advising, tutoring, appointment scheduling, social media, tracking of student progress and communication across all constituents. These features allow the various student service centers (advising, tutoring, etc.) to improve their operations that currently inhibit them to work seamlessly together.
