As we reflect on our own good fortunes to be members of The University of Akron community, let us also resolve to take real action in service of the many others in our community who are less fortunate than us. Compassion and a deep sense of the common good have long been part of the promise of this University.
I encourage you to join Georgia and me in extending our thoughts and actions toward the many in our society who are in need. Let us also resolve that our work together always will be driven by a deep gratitude of this place and the people who make it so special, and an unwavering commitment to extend our great advantages to everyone.
