Biography

Brian Radesic received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Kent State University in 1987, a Master of Science degree in Nursing from The University of Akron in 1995 and his Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Case Western University in 2011. He received the DNP Dean’s Legacy Award when graduating from Case Western University. He has worked at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, University Hospitals of Cleveland, Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, Robinson Memorial Hospital, Elyria Regional Healthcare System, and MetroHealth System, a Level One Trauma Center in Cleveland, Ohio. At MetroHealth, he was able to acquire nurse anesthesia students and was the clinical coordinator for the Nurse Anesthesia Program from The University of Akron. One of his accomplishments involved developing one of the Cleveland area’s first electronic recorded keeping systems. He enjoyed educating many healthcare professionals at MetroHealth including medical students, nursing students, flight nurses, operating room and PACU nurses, anesthesia residents, oral surgery residents, respiratory therapists and paramedic students. He has been a practicing CRNA for 28 years. He currently is the Program Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at The University of Akron. The Nurse Anesthesia Program is the largest nurse anesthetist program in Ohio with over 45 clinical sites throughout the state. He currently practices anesthesia at UH Parma Medical Center, where he continues to educate anesthesia students in the clinical setting. His most recent research is  published in the AANA Journal “ Ease of Intubation With the Parker Flex-Tip® or a Standard Mallinckrodt® ETT when Using a Video Laryngoscope (GlideScope®) ”. He has presented at the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) annual conference in Seattle and Las Vegas on anesthesia medications and taught at the difficult airway workshop in Cleveland. He also developed the first difficult airway workshop for graduate anesthesia students at The University of Akron. Publications include the use of the WuScope in cervical neck injuries and heating modalities in patients under general anesthesia. He also co-authored a chapter in Nurse Anesthesia, 2009 on Trauma Anesthesia with Charles Barton, MSN, M.Ed., CRNA. He has lectured in several states on a wide variety of anesthesia topics. In 2011, he received the AANA’s Annual Clinical Instructor of the Year Award in Boston. He was awarded Ohio State Association of Nurse Anesthetists (OSANA) Educator of the Year in 2019. He is a member of the AANA and OSANA.
