Biography: Patrick Tabatcher, Assistant Lecturer, has been teaching Web Design since 2004 at the Myers School of Art. He has a BFA in Graphics Design and an MA in Communications, both from The University of Akron. He also works as a Senior Multimedia Producer and Apple Instructional Specialist for The University of Akron’s Design & Development Services department, where he assists faculty with the design and development of online courses and web-based course materials. He is an advocate of creating accessible and standards-compliant web sites and has presented at several national and international conferences on the topic, including several New Media Center summer conferences. He also has an interest in user-experience of online systems and has been involved in research relating to eye-tracking and information recall of online information presented to users using differing methods of presentation. He also co-teaches a class in the School of Dance, Theatre and Arts Administration on digital technology for dance and theatre students where he teaches about design, multimedia production and portfolio websites.
