LSAC Prelaw Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program FAQs

The Akron Law PLUS Program will be JUNE 1 - 25, 2021.

1. I’m interested! How do I apply?

To apply, you can access our application here. Our application requires you to answer questions about yourself and write a few, small essays.

We encourage you to take your time on these essays, as we look at them closely during the admission process. You will also need to provide one letter of recommendation, a current resume, and a transcript (unofficial is fine).

We recommend that you compile these documents before beginning the application, as there is space to upload them at the end of the application.

2. When is LSAC PLUS Online at Akron Law held?

LSAC PLUS Online will begin Tuesday, June 1st and conclude on Friday, June 25th.

3. What is the cost of this program?

FREE! This program is provided at no cost to admitted students. In addition, we will provide each participant a $1,000 stipend upon completion of LSAC PLUS Online, alongside a number financial perks provided by LSAC. This includes two free LSATs and additional financial assistance during the law school application process. Please know that 80% participation is required to receive these benefits.

4. In what format will this program be held?

Out of an abundance of caution, and with an emphasis on the health and wellness of our students and faculty, this program will be held virtually. The WebEx platform will primarily be used, and you’ll also receive access to our online classroom platform. Don’t worry – we’ll show you how to use it all during orientation! And, if you feel that your current technology may not be sufficient to participate, know that LSAC has a plan for that too.

5. How much of a time commitment is this program?

LSAC PLUS Online is designed to be challenging. We have a lot of information and opportunities to share with you in just four weeks! For this reason, know that this will be a full-time commitment with a full schedule. We anticipate a Monday-Friday schedule (although Fridays will likely be lighter), with classes beginning in the morning and lasting through early afternoon. Please note that you can enjoy this program from the comfort of your home, wherever that may be! But, we do plan that this program will operate in EST.

6. What can I expect from LSAC PLUS Online?

So much! You’ll be introduced to legal courses like Legal Writing, Constitutional Law, Discrimination, and more. You’ll also receive the opportunity to network and meet with lawyers and judges from across the country and in different practice areas. Many of our former PLUS Program students have connected with mentors and made wonderful friends during their experiences in the PLUS Program.

We’ll encourage you to think in new ways, analyze different perspectives, and expand your legal knowledge. We’ll also prepare you for the law school admission process and beyond! You’ll learn to review law school applications, update your resume, and know what it takes to succeed as a law student. Don’t worry – we’ll have plenty of fun too!

7. What if I still have questions?

That’s okay! Feel free to let us know and we’ll help you out. Just send us at email at and we’ll be in touch as soon as we can!
