On Tuesday, September 27, The University of Akron’s Jean Howard Taber Student Union was packed with 1,200 students looking to secure permanent and co-op positions with their dream companies at the Engineering and Computing Professions Career Fair.
The event provided opportunities for students to talk directly with hiring managers, explore different career options, and even interview for open positions. For many students, this was the first time they ever talked directly with prospective employers.
Global companies were on-site including Avery Dennison, Dupont, Honda and Timken Steel as well as popular local employers such as AECOM and the City of Akron. In total, 239 companies participated – the biggest number in the history of the fair.
We asked students to show us how they felt in the lead-up to the fair and how they felt on their way out. We wanted to capture the emotions associated with putting yourself out there the way our students do.
This is the result.
