Congratulations to Polymer Science major Theodore Hammer on being awarded the $5,000 PCI/Axalta Scholarship for 2017.
Hammer’s dedication and academic record earned him the scholarship that will help fund his second year studying at The University of Akron’s College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering. Hammer earned his B.S. in chemistry at UA in 2015, graduating with a GPA of 3.8, and has continued to study at UA to earn a degree in Polymer Science. In addition to excelling academically, Hammer has been a helping hand in the community for years. Throughout his college career he has volunteered as assistant coach for the Medina High School wrestling team and a dog walker for the Summit County Animal Shelter, among other organizations.
The scholarship is given by Axalta Coating Systems in partnership with the Powder Coating Institute (PCI) to individuals within the industry who demonstrate exceptional academic performance and leadership potential, and Theodore Hammer is certainly one of those exceptional individuals.
Congratulations to Teddy on his successes so far. We look forward to seeing what he achieves in the future!
