Enoch Damson, pictured above, chair of UA’s Department of Business and Information Technology, accepted a Certificate of Accreditation on behalf of the department at the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs Conference in Atlanta on June 19. All of the department’s associate degree programs were also reaffirmed by ACBSP’s Associate Board of Commissioners.

The University of Akron was one of 21 colleges and universities from seven countries recognized for attaining ACBSP initial accreditation for baccalaureate/graduate business degree programs.

“This certificate of accreditation is evidence that the Department of Business and Information Technology is committed to providing a comprehensive quality education that is applied, experiential, and career relevant to students,” says Damson, who also is a professor of computer information systems.

Established in 1988, ACBSP is the only organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels, from associate to baccalaureate to doctoral degree programs.
