David Flynn graduated from The University of Akron in 1982 and has over 35 years experience as a working designer, art director, and studio owner.
Beginning his career as an art studio intern in 1980, David started working on business-to-business accounts in print, packaging and corporate identity, while moving up to the position of art director.
He then took a corporate in-house co-creative director’s position directing writers, designers, production artists, photographers, stylists and vendors for print, brand management, store environment, television and radio advertising.
From corporate, David moved to get advertising agency experience. For six years, he expanded his resume working on accounts that included banking, healthcare, polymer science and manufacturing for local, regional and national clients.
In 1994 he founded David Flynn Design, and since then has continued to build a diverse list of clients ranging from corporate direct accounts, small business, university communications, non-profits and is used as a creative out source for advertising agencies. David thrives on creating unique and effective concepts for advertising and communications projects, and producing them successfully within budget for his clients.
In August of 2009, David joined The University of Akron as a visiting lecturer. He has taught at every level in the program from Introduction to Graphic Design to Senior Portfolio, an “Un-Class” in the University Honor’s College, and was one of 5 university professors to receive the 2018 Professor of Passion Award.
