Biography

William S. Jordan, III is Emeritus Professor of Law, retired from The University of Akron School of Law, where he taught Administrative Law. He also taught Property, Environmental Law, and Evidence. He received his B.A. from Stanford University and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan. He served as an attorney-advisor at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, then with the Washington, D.C., firm of Sheldon, Harmon, Roisman & Weiss, which became Harmon, Weiss, and Jordan, where he engaged primarily in environmental and administrative litigation. Dean Jordan is a longtime member and Fellow of the Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice of the ABA. He has served on the Council of the Section, as Chair of the Judicial Review Committee, the Membership Committee, and the Publications Committee. He served for eighteen years as a contributing editor to the Administrative and Regulatory Law News.
