The theme for TEDxUniversityofAkron’s first event is “Why Not?”

“This half-day will inspire, motivate and encourage attendees to ask them ‘Why not?’ on a daily basis,” says Kristen Wertz, a UA student and one of the event planners.

TEDxUniversityofAkron is completely student produced.

“As a student organization, we are taking many steps to give all students the chance to get involved,” Wertz said. “Marketing plans through print and social media have been put into place to let students know about this exciting event for students run by students.”

Participation is limited to the campus community. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online today.
