$10K up for grabs in pitch competition

EXL centerThe EX[L] Center is looking for UA students with business ideas to participate in the University of Akron $10,000 Startup Challenge (“The Race to 10k”) sponsored by the Burton D. Morgan Foundation.

A top prize of $10,000 will be awarded to the winner, with additional prizes awarded to runners-up.  

The pitch competition, open to all UA students, is focused on promoting entrepreneurship over the fall semester through mentorship, business development events and pitch practices.

Anyone interested is invited to complete the first step by submitting a five sentence write-up answering three key questions:

  1. What is the problem you wish to solve with your business?
  2. How do you solve it?
  3. How do you make money?

Also, drop in when convenient to our informational session between 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the EX[L] Center, located in Room 168 of Bierce Library. Pizza, snacks and swag will be available!
