Undergraduate Programs

Study History at UA

The Department of History is a community of students and faculty with a shared commitment to exploring the past. Faculty members are dedicated to student success and are active in advising, teaching, mentoring, and supervising research projects. Students in the Department of History build analytical skills, learning to weigh and interpret evidence and present their findings in writing. Career paths ranging from law and business to government and education demand the skills that history students gain.

Our courses cover all time periods and span the globe. History students at UA acquire an understanding of how communities fit into larger historical and global contexts, preparing them to succeed in an interconnected world.

The Department of History offers a variety of undergraduate programs, allowing our students greater flexibility when designing their degrees. Our advising team makes it easy for you to declare a history major or to add a second major, minor, or certificate in history. Many students can even count courses they've already taken in other programs toward their major or minor.
