Join us in honoring College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering Alumni

The College will host a one day symposium in celebration of the outstanding achievements of our alumni and students. Events include the presentation of student awards and Distinguished Alumni Awards from both departments, and talks by students, alumni, and industry speakers. This event will provide ample opportunities to network with the global Akron polymer community and reconnect with faculty and fellow alumni at an extended poster session.

INDUSTRY ATTENDEES

This year we are offering, at no charge, the opportunity to display your company’s information on a table-top display during the reception. This is a great opportunity to make graduating students aware of career opportunities and to find synergies with faculty researchers. If you have any questions or are interested in registering for a table exhibit, please contact Laurel Lohrey at llohrey@uakron.edu.

Also included with your registration is a USB flash drive containing our college’s faculty profiles. During the reception we will also offer the option of creating research quad chart sets on topics tailored to your company’s needs and uploading them to your USB flash drive. Quad sets are collections of concise summaries of ongoing research. Please contact Dr. Paula Watt at pw19@uakron.edu if you have any questions.

We value industry input in our research and would like to invite you to vote on the best student poster during the reception. You will be provided a ballot on which you will write-in your selection and the winners will be announced the following week. iPads will be awarded to the top 3 winners supported by the generosity of LORD Corporation.

CPSPE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Make a donation to the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering’s scholarship fund and receive your very own Dr. Frank N. Kelley bobblehead!

This year, for the 2017 Polymers Appreciation Day for Alumni & Industry, you have the opportunity to purchase a bobblehead of our first College Alumni Award winner – Dean Emeritus Dr. Frank N. Kelley. That’s right – encased in polymer and looking sharp, you too can own your very own professor bobblehead by making a donation of at least $200.

All proceeds will go directly into the College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering’s scholarship fund for students. (Please note: ONLY Checks or credit cards can be accepted)

Please help us grow our scholarship fund while you acquire a legacy souvenir of a great professor and our founding dean!
