Course Overview

This two and a half day class will provide a basic overview of silicone elastomeric product technology. It is designed to complement the book, The Silicone Elastomer Handbook, authored by the presenter. Basic silicone chemistry will be presented along with defining the various types of silicone elastomers, how they are formulated, crosslinked and utilized. Very practical processing know-how will be relayed including formulation, processing, testing, property modification and troubleshooting. Over 30 actual case histories will also be discussed during the course to reinforce the many various aspects of the applied principles of silicone technology.

The Silicone Elastomer Handbook is an applied guide to silicone elastomer technology and is based upon the course. The book is not required course material, but is a helpful addition to the course information. The regular price for the book is $795.00 USD. Through APTC, the book is available for course attendees to purchase for $695.00 USD. You can purchase the book prior to or during the course.  To purchase the book prior to the course, please call 330-972-8625.
