President Scott L. Scarborough, Ph.D., announced that the Reverend Dr. Carl P. Wallace, a distinguished pastor and community leader with deep experience in diversity matters, has been appointed interim Chief Diversity Officer for the University, pending Board of Trustees approval. A national search is being conducted to permanently fill the position.

Garrett Dowd, who graduated from UA in 2015 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, received a Fulbright award to study at the prestigious University College London in England.
"It is hard to overstate how difficult it is to earn a Fulbright award to the United Kingdom," says Dr. Karl Kaltenthaler, professor of political science and the Fulbright Program Advisor on campus.

Governor John R. Kasich has named two outstanding Akron-area community leaders to the UA Board of Trustees — William (Bill) A. Scala and Joseph M. Gingo. The appointees, both alumni, will fill two vacancies among the Board’s nine voting members.
