Scott Eastbourn '10 had no idea his dream job would be in the Mojave Desert when he came to The University of Akron to major in mechanical engineering. But that’s where he is — working for Virgin Galactic on projects that could change space travel as we know it.

David Giffels '88, '95 is the author of The Hard Way on Purpose (Scribner, 2014), a collection of linked essays about the quirky, hard-bitten cultural landscape of America’s Rust Belt. He'll be signing his book and speaking Thursday, March 19, from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Student Union on UA's main campus. This event is free; an RSVP is requested.
