For the third consecutive year, the University has received an excellent rating in the annual financial aid records audit conducted by the Ohio Board of Regents to determine compliance with federal and state reporting standards. The rating means that there were no findings of error.
As in past years, auditors pulled 100 files for the 2012 fiscal year and reviewed the information in nine separate areas, including each student's transcript, financial aid, academic progress and statement of account.
Good cooperation between departments
“The ebb and flow of the financial aid process requires the cooperation of several departments, including Student Accounts, Admissions, University Registrar and the Controller's Office, which coordinates the audit each year,” says Michelle Ellis, executive director of the Office of Student Financial Aid.
“All areas have to be working well together to have a clean audit,” adds Ellis. “I am very grateful to the dedicated staff in each of these departments, but especially to those in the Office of Student Financial Aid who provide excellent oversight and coordination of the state programs.”
